Enhanced First Aid Training
This GWO module enables participants working in a remote wind turbine environment to administer safe, effective, and immediate lifesaving measures using advanced emergency equipment and medical teleconsultation. GWO certified through ENSA.
CONTENT:
- Risks/hazards/legislation
- Anatomy, injury, & illnesses
- Management of an incident & national emergency response
- Medical teleconsultation
- Enhanced first aid using primary & secondary survey
- Pain management & further possible medication
- Advanced first aid techniques
LOCATION:
- Groton Training Center, Groton, CT
DURATION:
- Initial: Twenty-one (21) Hours | 3 Days
- Refresher (with valid FA, or FA-R, or EFA, or EFA-R):
Fourteen (14) Hours | 2 Days
AGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Participants must be a minimum of 18 years of age for full participation and certification. Participants under the age of 18 require parental consent.
PREREQUISITES:
- Participants engage in rigorous activity and should be in a good state of health, and physically capable of fully taking part in all course exercises.
Participants need work boots and a photo ID. We provide all other equipment.
CERTIFICATION:
- All participants who complete the full program in accordance with the learning and performance objectives receive a course completion certificate and GWO (WINDA) credit (24-mo expiry).
SCHEDULING:
- Book training calendar seats on a first-come, first-served basis.
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:
- The EFA module teaches advanced lifesaving measures exceeding those of GWO FA 2002 First Aid.
- Basic safety modules: Wind Limited Access (WLA), GWO BST-1005 Program, Work at Height (WAH 1002), Manual Handling (MH 102), First Aid (FA 2002), Fire Awareness (FAW 101), Sea Survival (GWO SS), GWO Refreshers
- Advanced modules: Enhanced First Aid (EFA), Advanced Rescue Training (ART-H) (ART-N)
