PREVENTING & EVALUATING A FIRE

This GWO module enables participants to work in a remote wind turbine environment to prevent fires and conduct initial judgment when evaluating a fire. Participants learn evacuation management, personnel accounting, and initial fire extinguishing with handheld firefighting equipment. This module is GWO-certified through ENSA.

CONTENT:

  • Minor to Severe injuries & illness
  • Management of an emergency
  • Lifesaving first aid within primary assessment principles (ABCs)
  • First aid under secondary assessment principles
  • First aid equipment & scenarios

DURATION:

  • Initial: Seven (7) Hours | 1 Day
  • Refresher: Four (4) Hours | 1 Day

LOCATION:

  • Groton Training Center, Groton, CT

AGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Participants must be a minimum of 18 years of age for full participation and certification. Participants under the age of 18 require parental consent.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Participants engage in rigorous activity and should be in a good state of health, and physically capable of fully taking part in all course exercises.

 

 

Students need work boots and a photo ID. We provide all other equipment.

 

CERTIFICATION:

  • All participants who complete the full program in accordance with the learning and performance objectives receive a course completion certificate and GWO (WINDA) credit (24-mo expiry).

SCHEDULING:

  • Book training calendar seats on a first-come, first-served basis.
