This GWO module enables participants working in a remote wind turbine environment to develop positive manual handling and ergonomic behaviors. GWO certified through ENSA.

  • Risks / hazards / legislation
  • Injury signs and symptoms from poor techniques
  • Biomechanics, safe practices & correct handling of equipment
  • Problem-solving approach to Manual Handling
  • Risk reduction techniques
  • Muscular-skeletal injury risk & associated job tasks

LOCATION:

  • Groton Training Center, Groton, CT

DURATION:

  • Initial and Refresher: Four (4) Hours | 1 Day
  • WAH & MH Initial Combo: Sixteen (16) Hours | 2 Days
  • WAH & MH Refresher Combo: Eight (8) Hours | 1 Day

AGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Participants must be a minimum of 18 years of age for full participation and certification. Participants under the age of 18 require parental consent.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Participants engage in rigorous activity and should be in a good state of health, physically capable of fully taking part in all course exercises. This program includes climbing up a ladder or tower, working at an elevated platform, and egressing from a height using rescue devices.

 

Students need to bring work boots and a photo ID. We provide all other equipment.

 

CERTIFICATION:

  • All participants who complete the full program in accordance with the learning and performance objectives receive a course completion certificate and GWO (WINDA) credit (24-mo expiry).

SCHEDULING:

  • Courses are scheduled on a rolling basis. Training calendar seats are booked on a first come, first serve basis.
